Being a Visual Merchandiser is a very creative, challenging and enjoyable role. You silently inspire our customers to purchase and help to create a welcoming and customer friendly environment to shop in. Your main job objective is to maximize sales through visual presentation. Essentially, while working with your Store Manager, you are responsible for making sure that each day is planned accordingly to carry out the overall look and visual maintenance of the store. It is extremely important that you understand the Boathouse customer and their wants and needs. Our store should always reflect the latest and the greatest, and we should always be one step ahead of our competitors.
- Be committed to uphold the company mission statement
- Wear the Boathouse lanyard proudly on every shift
- Follow the company’s Customer Service initiative “S.T.A.R.S” with every customer
- Offer a minimum of 2 additional items to EVERY customer during each sale (1 apparel and 1 promo)
- Prioritize serving customers over completing tasks
- • Thoroughly complete the BH Morning Visual Checklist every morning.
- • Create a daily plan to carry out any visual tasks. Be able to speak to your decisions
- • Put out and display new product in a timely and efficient manner
- • Follow and carry out any visual direction given to you by your Store Manager and/or Visual Trainer.
- • Uphold all BH visual standards and always follow your weekly Visual Profile.
- • Maximizing the space and layout of your store to maximize sales and decrease loss
- • Give constant feedback to your Store Manager.
- • Lead the team and share all knowledge with the employees in regards to visual
- Be a team player and support all other roles within the store
- Come to work fully dressed in current season Boathouse attire from head to toe.
- Keep the store maintained (neat, clean and organized) Cleaning washrooms may be required
- Comply with all BH Policies and Procedures
- Read the Retail 101 and the Visual Profile weekly
- Participate in all store contests
- Recognize the the Cash wrap is for serving customers only and not for socializing, tasking or loitering
- Foster a positive working environment by interacting respectfully with all team members
- • Take pride in your work and send pictures to your Visual Trainer weekly
- Be a team player and support all other roles within the store

Qualifications:
- Passion for our product
- Demonstrated time management and organizational skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize
- Ability to multi task and drop tasks for customers
- Ability to effectively maneuver around the sales floor and the back room, repetitive bending, prolonged standing, twisting, climbing ladders
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
- Retail and visual merchandising experience is preferred
- Proven ability and desire to lead, train and develop other team members
- Ambition to move further within the company along with the skill set to do so
Scheduling and Availability:
- Open Availability from 6am to 6am Sunday through Saturday (Scheduled hours will vary by store)
- Some overnight shifts will be required
- Some travel may be required
- All team members are required to be available during Boathouse Black Out periods which may include some or all Canadian Statutory holidays, Civic holidays and March Break. Refer to your P&P manual
